Account numbers
Every person gets an account number like EP-1042 when the record is created. Payers put it in the memo of their payments, and ePayRecon matches those payments at once.
- Permanent. A number never changes and is never given to anyone else, even after the record is deleted or merged.
- Prefix. Up to 5 letters (Settings › Account numbers); no I or O, which look like 1 and 0.
- Check digit. Turn it on in Settings to add a last digit that catches typing mistakes: a mistyped number is flagged, and the closest valid numbers are suggested on the review screen.
- Family numbers. Group siblings or a household as a family; the family gets its own number (
EP-F1013). A payment with the family number is split across the members.
Changing the prefix or the next number only affects numbers given from now on.
